How MAM can help

- CITIZENSHIP/NATURALIZATION APPLICATIONS At MAM, we value the contributions of immigrants to our community and nation. Roughly 300,000 people in the Houston area are eligible to pursue U.S. Citizenship, but often encounter roadblocks in the process (paperwork, finances, legal questions, fear, or other challenges). That's why we assist lawful permanent residents along the often-complicated or confusing process of becoming citizens of the United States. We help file naturalization/citizenship applications including fee waivers for USCIS fees if eligible. If you have had your legal permanent residency for 5 years you may be eligible to apply.  If you have been married to and living with your United States citizen spouse for 3 years you may qualify to apply after 3 years of having your legal permanent residency.

- DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS (DACA) RENEWALS We can help you renew your DACA if you have already been approved DACA before.  We are not able to help with initial DACA applications. Due to a court injunction, DHS is currently prohibited from approving initial DACA requests.

- HUMANITARIAN-BASED PETITIONS FOR VICTIMS OF CRIME (U VISA) We help file applications for the U Nonimmigrant visa (U Visa). If you are looking for help with filing an initial asylum application for crimes that happened in another country, please do not schedule an appointment. We do not handle initial asylum cases. If you have been a victim of a serious crime in the United States including domestic violence, have filed a police report and you have cooperated with the police you should schedule a consultation for a U nonimmigrant visa.

- ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS TO LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENCY We help file applications for adjustment of status and applications for fee waivers for USCIS fees if eligible. We offer consultations for the following types of adjustment cases: •    Refugees and asylees who are living in the United States with that approved status.  •    U Visa nonimmigrant holders that have lived in the United States for three years with that status.

- KEEPING FAMILIES TOGETHER | FAMILY RELATIVE PETITIONS We can file relative petitions to help unite and keep families in the United States. United States citizens are eligible to file a relative petition for their spouse, children, parents, or siblings. Legal permanent residents are eligible to file a relative petition for their spouse and unmarried children. If you are married to a United States citizen and believe that you qualify for the new parole in place program announced by the President please schedule a consultation.
